Last night, the Lord Lyon addressed the Grand Antiquity Society in the Trades Hall Glasgow Glasgow on the topic "A Right Royal Year - from the death of Queen Elizabeth to the Honours of Scotland Service". Afterwards the Preses announced that Dr Morrow had been made an Honorary Member.

Rothesay Herald, Sheriff George Way of Plean CStJ, attended the annual service to commemorate the Martyrdom of St John the Baptist held at the historic Priory of Torphichen by the Venerable Order of St John of Jerusalem. Rothesay is the Genealogist of the Priory of Scotland.

Yesterday, the Lord Lyon presented the Letters Patent granting arms for the City of Dunfermline to Cllr Jim Leishman, Provost of Fife. Scotland’s State Trumpeters with Marchmont Herald, Albany Herald Extraordinary and Bute Pursuivant attended. The artist was Sarah Coomer.

The letters patent granting the indifferenced arms to the Chief of Clan Carruthers (Gules two chevrons engrailed betwixt three fleur-de-lys Or) were painted by Yvonne Holton.

The Royal arms which appear on the new pipe banner of the RAF in Scotland were taken from a digital painting by Kevin Greig.

The Lord Lyon personally commissioned a study of the Presentation of the Crown  to The King at the Royal Honours of Scotland Ceremony. The Scottish  artist is  Hugh Buchanan who recently handed it over to the Lord Lyon. It marks this modern part of Scottish history.

We note with sadness the death of Lady Saltoun, Chief of Clan Fraser. May she rest in peace.

Marchmont Herald and Falkland Pursuivant Extraordinary officiated this evening at the Handing Back of the Keys of Edinburgh Castle by the retiring Governor, Major-General Alastair Bruce.

Ruth Davies of Pollock Davies has completed a commission for Old Logie Kirk, Stirlingshire, carving a wooden replica of the 17th century Memorial Stone of the Rev. Alexander Douglas, Minister from 1690-1720.
