I didnโ€™t get into organizing workers into revolutionary structures, which is important. But the Petrograd Soviet became organized relatively quickly in the heat of a revolutionary situation. When the movement is at a modest pitch you can attempt this until youโ€™re blue in the face

In much simpler terms, it's an idea as ridiculous as saying that the "primary contradiction" is the invention of paper money by the Tang dynasty in the 7th century.

The disconnect is that he seems to have credibility/cachet in nominally Marxist circles (esp Monthly Review school), but he is nowhere close to a Marxist. x.com/Absurd_Ruka/stโ€ฆ

the problem isn't ideology in that sense. the problem is when they decided we are betrayers and part of the enemy class that must be overcome/liquidated. Then, yes, you do get the "enemy of my enemy" crossover. But it's important to grasp what's happening at it's root.

I'm aware my opinion is too sharply critical to be constructive but it isn't out of bounds to frame the glaring issue so that you are compelled to confront it (or ignore it if you choose). Ask me for my personal thoughts and then you will be justified in chiding my tone lol

NOTHING is innately mathematic, itโ€™s a social construct and a useful one at that. After the revolution, some of us will pick up the calculator, pencil, and paper and go work for the Gosplan.

there is nothing "non-partisan." marxism is a strictly partisan theory because it is proletarian politics. all of the "non-partisan" tend to be of bourgeois politics, thereby they too are partisan

You really have to tiptoe around the glaring question of the USSR to theorize the "civilizational state" (or "Xivilization"). If the USSR was one that kind of undermines the claim of millenia length peristence. If it was not one then how are you not just peddling Putin theory?

There are two takeaways from this: 1. Workers knew they had power. They understood that they may not own the means of production, but they most certainly had control of the economy. 2. Corporations are run by ignominious poltroons who thoroughly understand 1, above.
