Technical perfection: Scott Forsyth ➡️Pushes back off chest immediately decreasing moment arm at shoulder ➡️Keeps chest high to minimize distance and avoid bad positioning ➡️Horizontal leg drive helps to launch the bar back towards the shoulders & avoids butt coming up.

19-yr difference! On the right, at one of my WPO Championships 2005 I believe and all I thought about was dominating my sport. On the left, earlier this year where all I think about is the little girl holding my hand, her siblings, God, & my wife. Totally different humans.

Is expressing power with exercises like Olympic lifts (or derivatives right Suchomel) the best way to build power output? That’s the goal of this thread.

Travis Mash (@mashelite) 's Twitter Profile Photo

First, what is power? It’s actually force x velocity. Verkhoshansky said that Weightlifters defied the force-velocity relationship with their expressions of power.

The principle of specificity says that strength is specific in transfer. Therefore; it’s important to express maximum power while training.

How much of each depends on the individual, but you can read all about it on my article for GymAware : gymaware.com/improving-powe…

Verkhoshansky believed that Weightlifters defied the relationship between force and velocity. Without a doubt, if power is your desired adaptation, Olympic weightlifting or their derivatives should be a part of your training arsenal. Tim Suchomel has compelling evidence everyone

Last thing for this morning, if coaches understood the principle of specificity just a bit better, a lot of mistakes would disappear. That's coming next from my series with GymAware
