We stand in solidarity with African Editors Forum (TAEF) in demanding the immediate release of journalist Antoine Galindo who was unjustly detained by the Ethiopian authorities on Feb 22nd.We strongly condemn this attack on #pressfreedom & urge the Ethiopian govt to ensure safety of journalists.
Journalist Mohamed Abdi has been in prison without a court order since 6 January. The prosecution ordered civilian authorities to take over his case and present him to a civilian court. But he isn’t taken to a civilian court, and he is in Hargeisa Prison. #JournalismIsNotACrime

Somaliland Intelligence Agency brought journalist Mohamed Abdi Sheikh before a military court today, an unprecedented move in the history of #Somaliland .
#Somaliland : CPJ is relieved by the January 9 release of Mohamed Abdi Abdillahi and Ilyas Abdinasir, two MM Somali TV journalists arrested on January 6.
However, their colleague, Mohamed Abdi Sheikh (Ilig), remains behind bars without charge. Authorities should unconditionally
#SouthAfrica : CPJ is relieved that Limpopo-based freelance journalist Thomo Nkgadima was granted bail and released on December 29.
However, he should never have spent time behind bars. Authorities should immediately drop all pending criminal proceedings against him.
#UPDATE : as of December 1, 61 #journalists and media workers were confirmed killed in #Israel - #Gaza war:
