A motoring pioneer, Frederick Richard Simms died #OnthisDay , 80 years ago, on the 22 April 1944. One of the first to use the terms 'motorcar' and 'petrol', he was friends with Gottlieb Daimler, and was one of the founders of the Royal Automobile Club and SMMT
