Although no longer University Halls I went back to stand on those same steps this weekend. And I'm proud to serve that University now as an External Examiner. Thanks Sussex, especially John Drury Tom Farsides & Karen Long 🙏

25 yrs ago this month I arrived at University of Sussex with my A level in Psychology from an evening class at Yeovil College. I was skint, hadn't been to school, lived in a lorry. I loved my halls on Brighton seafront, made lifelong friends & flourished in my Sussex Psychology course.

What’s happening in Manston is a national disgrace. Hundred illegally detained on the whim of a politician. Women and children including from Iran sleeping on mats on the floors of tents for weeks as winter approaches. Diseases of the past rife. And now firebombs. Appalling

Martin Daubney 🇬🇧 If Mr Kerrie had been an adult at the time of the offence he would have received 7 years. The judge doubted his account. A jury unanimously found he used grossly disproportionate force to kill a man, who a witness claimed, was leaving his house following a fight over a car.

This would be a minor, but very sensible, change in the law to stop prisoners being released on a Friday. It's one of several changes Nacro have been advocating for some time. nacro.org.uk/news/nacro-new…
