I feel for our farming communities who woke up to a shocker of a GDT result: another 7% fall in dairy prices. This comes on top of squeezed margins, hit by high inflation & interest rates. The NZ economy is in increasing trouble. We need a National Government to get #BackOnTrack.

My heart goes out to families struggling with mortgages, learning worse could be ahead as the Reserve Bank forecasts a double-dip recession & interest rates staying higher for longer. Labour’s economic mismanagement has gone on too long. Come October, hope is on in its way.

National’s message to those hardworking Kiwis who have been doing it tough in this cost of living crisis - relief is on its way.

This is a scam. No one, not even Grant Robertson, believes Labour’s GST change would be fully passed on to consumers, as this claims. It’s yet more of Labour’s fairytale economics, built on magical thinking and a wave of a grocery commissioner wand. Kiwis deserve better.

I had an excellent meeting with Australian Treasurer and good friend to NZ Jim Chalmers MP in Sydney today: it was warm, practical and action-focused. Our economies have many shared challenges and opportunities. Looking forward to making more progress together. 🇳🇿🇦🇺

Individual agencies have always been responsible for negotiating pay equity claims. They will continue this responsibility for future claims. It is irresponsible for Labour MPs and their associates to scaremonger about a taskforce the last Government didn’t budget on keeping.

The Regulatory Impact Assessment on the Tax Bill used HYEFU data which suggested up to 9000 beneficiaries could receive a smaller end of year tax refund. The updated figure, using latest data, is 5000. To be clear, this does not affect weekly income received.

I understand that Labour loves talking about more taxes. What’s harder to work out is why would David Parker be stepping in to comment on Dr Russell and Hon Edmond’s portfolios: He hasn’t held the revenue portfolio for more than a year? nzherald.co.nz/nz/politics/la…
