On why this launch is important to NI, Professor Ian Young, CSA Department of Health & #HSCRandD Director said: “This historic partnership unites various sectors in NI including Health and Social Care, academia, industry and the voluntary sector, to leverage our collective strengths.”

Laura Collins, Family Carer & HSC Public Involvement Enhancing Research (PIER) member, recorded a video message for the #CfRENIPartnership manifesto launch: “You won’t really know what it is like to be in a disabled household, living on welfare, unless you include those who do.”

Dr Mahendra G Patel OBE 🕉, Director of the Centre for Research Equity UNI. Of Oxford highlighted community engagement: “We want to ensure that research outcomes are applicable, safe and beneficial to all, and that starts with listening to and engaging with the very people we serve.”

Welcoming the #CfRENIPartnership launch, Professor Richard Hobbs, Pro-Vice Chancellor University of Oxford encouraged a long-term foundation of collaboration to bring change: “This is a long-term commitment to advancing research equity and improving health outcomes in NI and beyond.”
