It took more than a DECADE... but finally it’s published!!! It started as a CRAZY idea but after tons of hard work we built it: We hijacked the endogenous secretion systems of Toxoplasma gondii, a brain parasite, to deliver active proteins to neurons 👇 nature.com/articles/s4156…

To new adventures! Leaving Berlin for a bit and excited to move to Boston to join the lab of Deepak Rao Harvard Medical School Brigham and Women's Hospital as a Marie Sklodowska Curie Fellow in October. Also, if you can link me to some affordable housing near BWH, that would be great 😅

Amazing numbers! It takes a lot of work in the background! I am sorry missing out the meeting in Hawaii! GlomCon also mirrors the success story of glom dis research over the past decade!

What is the differential function of the many inhibitory receptors on T cells? While PD-1 KO T cells have improved proliferation and persistence (and express even higher TOX), LAG-3 KO become more functional (cytotoxicity, cytokines), but struggle to persist. 1/2

🎉 Our manuscript has just been accepted by the Journal of Cellular and Molecular Medicine and will be available there very soon. This paper presents an excellent method for multiple staining of the same kidney sections with different antibodies in repeating staining cycles,

I'm excited to see this true GFR measurement drug/device nearing FDA approval. Imagine injecting a inert fluoroprobe, slapping a pulse-ox like monitor on them and in less than 1 hr knowing their mGFR. You could also monitor for changes in mGFR over12-24h. kidney-international.org/article/S0085-…

Once developped to partly replace ESA and EPO with their cardiovascular side-effects, HIF stabilizers turn out to be not better than ESA and EPO in short-term FU - and they have uncertain long-term safety 👇 evidence.nejm.org/doi/abs/10.105…
