Rafah today. Death. Fear. Chaos. Mayhem. And nowhere safe to go.

The situation in Rafah is terrifying. The army ordered the evacuation of eastern Rafah, then immediately began shelling the homes of civilians and the warehouses of international organizations and traders. Israel is burning your aids!

Today I had spaghetti for lunch, a meal I’ve been longing for for months during the famine in northern #Gaza .
My spaghetti bag was ripped and I found a bullet inside.

We live in a parallel universe where I’d find a bullet in my food and still think it was delicious!

This reminds me of what Putin's armies have been doing in the occupied territories in Ukraine—destroying municipal property, crushing civilian cars with tanks without any need. Cheerfully, senselessly, just for fun: 'because we can' and 'who can stop us?'

Israeli army ordered doctors and patients in Rafah’s only public hospital to leave. Fearing the fate of patients & medical staff found bound & executed in mass graves in Khan Younis, everyone left. Only the European hospital a small, already overwhelmed facility remains.

Four weeks ago I stood, together with dear Medical Aid for Palestinians #Gaza colleagues, where the Israeli tanks are now at #Rafah crossing.
Their destruction simply strengths our solidarity.

This is what Israeli bombardment translates into. Burned kids. A whole generation scarred inside and out.

W/Kerem Shalom & Rafah closed, the 'Jordan route,' bringing in only a few hundred trucks/wk at best, is one of the only routes for aid entry left. Today, Israeli protestors blocked that too. IL police haven't done enough to disperse protests for months, another way aid is blocked
