Quince is Mother Nature’s remedy for reflux, morning sickness & nausea. Research papers have found that quince is as effective as omeprazole & ranitidine for reflux without any of the icky side effects & it’s safe for older babies, young children as well as during pregnancy.

This interesting study from Henrik Riel revealed 2 key things: 1) Isometrics may be no more effective than isotonics or walking for plantar heel pain 2) Individual response to treatments vary a great deal, look at the yellow & red lines for walking! 😳 onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.111…

As much as we can and should be guided by evidence I really think we need to be guided by each individual too. This may mean being a little more open to other treatment options if patients aren’t responding as expected. In many cases it comes down to educated trial and error!

A new systematic review showing the superiority of motor control exercises for low back pain has just come out, and I thought I would highlight some aspects of this review that made me a bit sceptical of their (overplayed) conclusion. bit.ly/2GXOTHz

Final take home: Be sceptical about reviews that make bold claims about treatment effects, especially when previous reviews have found exactly the opposite. It's October 2020 and I thought we were past the motor control vs other treatments discussion. Sadly it seems we aren't.

As a healthcare professional I am able to continue treating during this period of lockdown. If you are suffering please do book in. The clinic is fully Covid compliant with all infection control proceedures in place instagram.com/p/CHZ_rUShrDH/…

Really upsetting that there was a fire at UCO School of Osteopathy clinic. Fortunately no one was hurt. This is a crucial facility for 100s of students to learn & for 1000s of patients, who now more than ever require healthcare & support. Please help if you can 👇🏻 justgiving.com/campaign/YourU…

💬 Sad day. Lockdowns have failed in slowing the transmission of Covid. Now Govt expects people to sacrifice sharing Xmas with family & friends, just a few days after promising the opposite ❓ ❌We need a clear exit strategy from this nightmarish, cycle of damaging lockdowns.

You have 25% MORE chance of getting infected always using a mask than never using it. Those partially accomplishing show similar, slightly higher, to mask wearers, 3,9% infections. PROVED way to minimize risk: never using a mask. But they're full mandatory, where's science?!
