FOWODE supports and encourages young women and girls to take on leadership roles in various sectors including politics, business and civil society. We provide mentorship and networking opportunities for women leaders to help them navigate the corridors of power.

Happening Now: FOWODE is currently convening CSO engagements with district Councillors in Hoima. These engagements will be instructive in shaping the district Council discussions on Constitutional reform issues.

We recognize the importance of involving men and boys in discussions about gender equality. We conduct programs that aim to change societal attitudes and norms related to gender roles and promote the active involvement of men in promoting women's agency and empowerment.

.FOWODE conducts civic education programs to raise awareness about women's rights, the importance of women's participation in decision-making processes, and the role women can play in shaping their communities at local, regional and national levels. #WomenEmpowerment

FOWODE provides training and capacity building programs for women to enhance their skills and knowledge in political participation, advocacy & entrepreneurship. This empowers women with the tools they need to take control of their lives & contribute actively to society.

Through this event, FOWODE joins other #AWESOME programme partners to evaluate the status of women's participation in electoral processes and strategize to create inclusive electoral processes in Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia. #WomenDrivingChange

We believe that engaging men is crucial for achieving meaningful progress in the promotion of gender equality. We have intensified our engagement with men as champions for the advancement of gender equality through convening outreaches on positive masculinities.

We acknowledge that men have a crucial role to play in advancing gender equality by actively challenging harmful norms, advocating for policy changes and supporting women's empowerment efforts.

FOWODE continues to witness a force of change from empowered communities as they take up ownership of community interventions by using their voices to demand better and gender-responsive service delivery in their areas.
