A shout out to all the people working in the tasting room that I met this weekend in Okanagan and Similkameen. You were all wonderfully helpful. #unsungheroesheroines

61 of the total have left the industry (sold/closed) as of end 2022 with 2 more announcements adding to that (Harpers and Rathjen). So net gain around 37 wineries since 2016.
#BCwinechat that 100 includes 52 that I class as 'Start Up' mode - Shipped for first time in 2021 or later or may not have shipped yet. 14 at Early stage (shipping from 2020) and 34 who started shipping in 2018/19

100 wineries have started up since 2016! This includes those that have announced but not yet shipped

Since 2016 there has been a incredible period of winery change. Tracking 382 wineries including virtuals.

Aaarrgh new tweetdeck looks awful and I'm not going to pay $8 for the privilege of using it.

If you still have any Lariana '14 Carmenere in yr cellar open at least 1 hour or decant. 2 hours later, it is EPIC π

Q9. Opened my 2017 Fort Berens Red Gold magnum for dinner with friends last weekend. Pretty nice drop o' red and would highly recommend. They've done a good job with this every year so far

Q7. Don't shop for wine on-line (as in via website). Have been known to email a winery with orders.

Q5: $25-$30+tax. But offsetting that with many more imports now in $20 range. #1 most bought wine so far this year Paul Mas Rose - 1L bottle $16.99

Q4 - 50%!!! you betcha it would impact. A couple of wineries did that last year - but with good reasons. No reason for an industry across the board increase of that magnitude in one fell swoop. Might be up 50% over 5 years

re Q1. I'm hosting the wine at a rather large local event next month and want to have a decent proportion of BC goodies - I've decided to showcase Similkameen wines for that.
