Good to be part of this discussion on housing at Lib Dem Conference with @helenmorganmp and AndrewJTaylor. Britain has underdelivered new homes of all tenures for 40+ years. Robust evidence-led national targets worked through with local communities can best meet housing need.
Interesting to hear from Cllr Izzy Seccombe on development delivery with Royal Town Planning Institute Planning Futures Vistry Partnerships West
Really enjoyed chairing the #HousingFringe at #CPC23 Many thanks to Bob Blackman Colin Noble Hannah Mark Washer, Andrew Taylor and Rob Brighouse for your contributions to the discussion. Lots of consensus about the need for a long term plan for housing 🏠🏠🏠

Hearing from the Minister for Housing, Planning & Building Safety tonight at the Planning Futures event in parliament
Fantastic Planning Futures Parliamentary Reception last night. Lee Rowley MP was guest speaker but was giving nothing away-more on how the urban uplift will work 'soon' (gentle densification!) & although there's a timetable for LURA secondary legislation, he wasn't willing to share it.
RTPI President Sue Bridge attended the Planning Futures reception in the House of Commons last night and caught up with Housing Minister Lee Rowley. A great way to bring the planning community together.

In anticipation, we will be exploring the topic with Fiona Howie, Chief Executive of Town & Country Planning Association, at a timely meeting of the Planning Futures Supper Club later this month.
We had a really enjoyable evening discussing the role of planning in meeting the complex needs of a modern London Borough. Many thanks to Grace Williams, for leading the conversation and being so generous with her time.
