I feel like there hasn't been enough discussion of the fact that Musk fired most of Twitter's workforce 18 months ago and, despite apocalyptic predictions, it still runs fine. I suspect the same would happen at many other companies. What does this say about corporate governance?

What's a good book on the theory of the firm? Ideally something up-to-date that presents a good survey of the questions, empirical findings and theories. Thinking about this puzzle made me realize that I should probably read something on this topic.

Once again I have been bypassed on the flimsy pretext that I have no scientific achievements. This is open anti-French discrimination of the worst kind.

Another funny thing is that people started to criticize Israel more for being 'white supremacist' as it was actually becoming less so. In the process, it became worse and not better, but since 'white supremacy' is the source of everything bad in the world, people just ignore it.

Israel was originally intended as a refuge for European Jews, but it has become a country for Middle Eastern Jews and you can sort of see the shift in the style of Zionist activism, with nerdy Ashkenazi apologetics being increasingly replaced by more 'in your face' propaganda.

The brouhaha about student protests has been good for Israel by distracting people from what is happening in Gaza, but it won't last. Soon the semester will end, protests on campuses will stop, the IDF will go into Rafah and the focus will be on Gaza again.

The idea that you become a terrorist by reading Terrorism: A Very Short Introduction (Oxford University Press: 2018) is one of the funniest and dumbest things I’ve ever come across

Speaker Johnson calls on the FBI to investigate campus protesters, because when he was at Columbia last week, he noticed many of the tents were the 'same color make and model.' Just breathtakingly idiotic and sinister. 'Matching tents' = predicate for FBI investigation? Really???

People are like 'what about all the porn though?' and I feel like they may not have noticed that I was French.
