It's a joy to read anything Vijeta writes. She thinks through her writing and it's a privilege to think alongside her. You can feel her love for the written word through the care she puts into writing her own. Love is for the ones who love the work, indeed. Read read.

Minor quibbles with the assumptious voice-over in the end: 'to begin with, it will take you and me to truly question our privilege.' Who is you and me? As a Dalit viewer, I felt alienated at this point, and wondered about the positioning of Neeraj Ghaywan Alankrita Shrivastava et al here. 4/5

I love how this ad, directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, begins with motherhood strategically, to cushion the trans identity, to protect it from prejudice, in order to playfully, thoughtfully re-orient that prejudice with a force of feeling.
