Every fall I think I will be able to dig in to a project or writing. Every fall I travel for conferences and use every second catching up from time away. And I minimize the conference I go to but some are necessary. Anyone else experience this? #AcademicTwitter

I’m unclear why masking isn’t a part of this recommendation. Can a public health person help me understand? To be clear, I’m not perfect abt masking, but it seems like maybe we’re at a point where it is time to recommend dialing it back up this fall? Even just rec not mandate?

Had a great time yesterday at our WSU Rad SW meeting Wayne State Social Work. We will meet biweekly for this semester on Wed 2:30-4. Every other mtg we will share and problem-solve ethical dilemmas. The other mtgs we will be learning about abolitionist approaches.

This is not back to normal.

COVID-19 isn’t just killing or harming people directly. It’s changing our norms of compassion. Once upon a time a 747 jet worth of people dying every 2-3 days would’ve caused alarm. But the disadvantaged and vulnerable people dying tend not to vote- For either party. 😞
