I've grown increasingly panicked about this. A lot of my new research project is centered on this issue.

Prepping this lecture by watching 'Richard Pryor: Live on the Sunset Strip' and 'Jerrod Carmichael: Rothaniel' and--really basic point here--cinematography and editing do so much work to shape our response to the material and to the comic.

My students in two different courses told me to watch Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show, so here we are.

I love this because there's always so much attention on Beyonce performing right after giving birth, or with an injury, etc. etc. And that has always bugged me. I really appreciate this acknowledgement of the need to treat your aging and changing body with grace.
