Found this trivia. Ray was shooting this 'Kanchenjunga' scene when a stranger interrupted Pahari Sanyal who played a bird-watcher in this film. Turns out the stranger was Dr Salim Ali whose book 'The Indian Hill Birds' Sanyal was seen reading in the scene.
