Last month Vienna had her first-ever piece in an art show, at the Children’s Voices Exhibit at cerritoscollege! I don’t know about you, but personally, this is the best drawing of a pirate I’ve ever seen. 🏴☠️
I love this op-ed from Stephanie Harrison. "True happiness is collective. It is the experience of being connected to others, of participating in relationships of mutuality, of knowing yourself to be a needed and useful part of a greater whole." latimes.com/opinion/story/…
Congratulations to Janice Hahn on becoming Chair of the Metro Los Angeles Board! Excited for your leadership in making sure Los Angeles County has a public transportation system that works for us all.
Thank you to California Governor Newsom for signing AB 1948 into law. California needs every tool in its toolkit to keep folks off the street and in stable housing. By signing this bill, we're ensuring this successful homelessness prevention program can continue.
President Biden's legislative record- on gun safety, on climate change, and much more- pushed our country to be a better and safer nation. Thank you, President Biden, for everything.
Thanks Capitol Weekly and Lisa Renner for taking a serious look at this important subject. Happiness should be a public policy goal, not just a byproduct of the work we do.
COMMITTEE ON HAPPINESS: Assembly Speaker Emeritus Anthony Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood) is chairing his final Select Committee on Happiness today. The committee has focused on how to ensure California is a happy place for all, and how public policy can improve happiness statewide.
Thanks to my colleague for their support on these bills, now headed to California Governor's desk! We're working to increase park and beach access, expand notification of rights for mobile home park tenants, and limit purchasing of military-grade weapons without local approval.
Thanks to my colleagues for passing my last-ever bill in the Legislature! AB 2834 encourages California Community Colleges and the CSU to include the names of adjunct faculty in class schedules and course materials, in order to support these important faculty and create transparency. #CALeg
