COMMITTEE ON HAPPINESS: Assembly Speaker Emeritus Anthony Anthony Rendon (D-Lakewood) is chairing his final Select Committee on Happiness today. The committee has focused on how to ensure California is a happy place for all, and how public policy can improve happiness statewide.

This week, I hosted my final hearing as Chair of the Select Committee on Happiness and Public Policy Outcomes. I want to thank every panelist who joined us over the past months to share their research and success stories, as well as my colleagues for their insightful questions.

Thanks to my colleague for their support on these bills, now headed to California Governor's desk! We're working to increase park and beach access, expand notification of rights for mobile home park tenants, and limit purchasing of military-grade weapons without local approval.

Four more of my bills have passed the Legislature! Thanks to the support of my colleagues, we are protecting the rights of California's workers, shielding mobile home tenants from unfair evictions, and creating more transparency for guests at short-term vacation rentals. #CALeg

Thanks to my colleagues for passing my last-ever bill in the Legislature! AB 2834 encourages California Community Colleges and the CSU to include the names of adjunct faculty in class schedules and course materials, in order to support these important faculty and create transparency. #CALeg

This is huge news for the people of Southeast LA. This designation will mean more funding and resources to help deal with the toxic pollution contaminating our communities and harming our families. Thank you to U.S. EPA for this critical step forward.
