It's rarely worth it to innovate on business tooling as a startup.

Incumbents lead for a reason – product, reliability, UX, integrations. Alternatives come with costs.

And if you die in 5 years, it won't be due to tools used. Channel this energy onto your own product instead.

Early stage startups must do 'things that don't scale' to get traction.

However, they won't actually scale unless process/product replaces these activities gradually.

Founders need to sense both WHEN manual labor is ready for automation and HOW TO, to preserve benefit at scale.

Zombie startups, whose initial product thesis failed to pan out, will often pivot to the in-vogue trend.

2 years ago that was Web3, now it's AI, in a couple years it'll be something else.

All these market by themselves will flourish, but it's unlikely the opportunists will win.
