Invited to Iftar breaking the fast. One of the most wholesome blessed meal I’ve eaten. Look at the geerousity of Turkish family. homeless, lost everything in the #turkeyearthquake2023 but so kind putting strangers first. That’s the spirit of #Ramadan2023

We were honoured to have been invited to stay with the family overnight we met back in February in their humble abode a tent since losing their home in the earthquake. The genuine offer wasn't hard to resist. #turkeyearthquake #Adiyaman

The amenities were simple and basic, there were 7 Adults and 5 Children including grandparents. We broke our fast with freshly cooked wholesome food prepared by the women who worked together and a true sense of sisterhood was visible. #Adiyaman #TurkeyEarthquake

The hospitality continued after prayers with freshly brewed Menengiç Coffee and figs We sat up late chatting to the families and the children. Sharing stories laughing and enjoying company without distractions of modernity. #TurkeyEarthquake #Adiyaman

Basic bedding was laid for us to get some rest which was much needed after the long day we had. The women woke early to prepare sahoor breakfast in a cramped area, felt guilty I was still in the bedding but they didnt allow help. The warmth, care and love ♥️was overwhelming.

The sahoor dawn b’fast turned out to be a banquet. All dairy and conserves wer made by the women using organic ING. Mustapha age 70 head of hse helping out! The natural yoghurt with grape conserve was devine. So much warmth by family. Life experiences with lasting memories.

A small team has arrived in #Adiyaman Turkey 🇹🇷❤️ today to continue aid distribution. Sabbir and Imran will be spending the next 3days with guide Ahmet distributing food, sweets and snacks to the children. They will also give cash handouts to eligibile families. #Turkiye

Started some distributing sweet packs in camps but usual chaos ensures when people find out

Some new camps springing up , look v nice , all mod cons. New roads constructed.

However still many people displaced staying in tents waiting to be rehoused into cabins. It’s a slow process ahead. But #Turkiye government doing a sterling effort.
