RIP Frank Stella, 87. In 1976 he designed the livery for the 2nd of BMW’s “art cars” to race at Le Mans. In 1980 he was on his way to the 24 Hours with his friend, the driver Peter Gregg, when their Porsche hit a farm tractor and overturned. Gregg was concussed and couldn’t race.

RIP Duane Eddy. Our old Labrador seemed to like his records but she wasn’t allowed upstairs so I used to take the Dansette down to my dad’s study and play her ‘Ramrod’, ‘Peter Gunn’, ‘40 Miles of Bad Road’, etc. A niche story, but a true one.
