I guess I want to call into question what we count as cheating and why. The more I think about it, it just seems like we’ve set up an unrealistic environment in which to do mathematics, and “cheating” is what we call daring to question that environment.

I can't put this up enough times, as this applies to mathematics as well. By focusing on the technicalities almost 100% of the time, we will produce a generation of literate illiterates. Human Restoration Project

Interesting comment from one of my students today: "I like this class, but I get tired of having to work all the time. In this class, we have to do the lesson. In other classes, the teacher does the lesson."

Thirty years ago, on this day, legendary visionary and labor organizer Cesar Chavez passed away at the age of 66. To this day, Chavez is stirring knowledge, pride, and fearlessness in our multiracial struggle for a just world.

Just your regular reminder that students who are given an opportunity to take more challenging courses that align w/ their skills & interests ultimately go on to accomplish more than the students who are not afforded the same opportunity. As a rural educator, this hits me hard.
