Really enjoyed my morning in Amersham celebrating Refugee Week. Our area has such a rich history of welcoming refugees from around the world, who have enriched our communities. Thank you to the organisers and all who took part.

⚽️ The sun eventually came out for Kings Church Amersham football festival today! It’s always a great day. Thank you to everyone who took part and an extra special thank you to the organisers who got drenched setting everything up last night and this morning.

Good to meet members of the Bensheim-Amersham Freundeskreis (Circle of Friends) yesterday. Bensheim is twinned with Amersham and it was good to see this friendship being promoted.

A huge honour to be officially sworn in again as Member of Parliament for Chesham and Amersham yesterday evening.

Today I met with Chalfont St Giles Parish Council to discuss the flooding and pollution in the village. I am aware of further flooding in Chalfont St Peter and in Chesham, and am raising these incidents with the responsible bodies as a matter of urgency.

The response of Thames Water 💧 to flooding in Chalfont St Peter and other areas this year has been disgraceful. Yesterday I welcomed plans to introduce tougher penalties on water companies that dump sewage in our rivers and fail their customers.

Yesterday I raised concerns about the knock-on effect the Government’s plan to remove the VAT exemption on independent school fees may have.

In recent weeks, I have been contacted by many concerned by the proposed cuts to the Winter Fuel Allowance. Yesterday, I voted against this cut and will continue to stand up for pensioners, many of whom are on low fixed incomes, who will be impacted across Chesham and Amersham.
