Once Upon A Prime is out in paperback in the U.S. tomorrow! To celebrate I got myself a little treat, a book of “999 (& several more)” plays, using dice.
Randomness is used in fascinating ways in literature - read my book to find out more! us.macmillan.com/books/97812508…

as a longtime fan of Conway's 'Game of Life' algorithm i never once considered visualizing the time axis physically -- this is breathtaking and elegant to me

This is simplistic, ableist & unhelpful. Don’t they think kids with disabilities/SEN are already trying as hard as they can? 90% is out of reach for our kiddo, through no fault of her own. How is this messaging meant to help? Glad she’s at a more supportive school than this one!

The decimal point is 150 years older than historians thought nature.com/articles/d4158… Revision arises from an analysis of astronomical tables compiled by the Italian merchant and mathematician Giovanni Bianchini in the 1440s.

Exciting news: here's the cover of my book about Shakespeare and maths, coming out in April.
I spent the last two years researching it, which took me from Portsmouth to Keswick via Stratford-upon-Avon. The most fun I've ever had on a book project.
