I attended Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust OTDT meeting today. In the last 10 months: 100% referral rate, 100% SN presence, 100% DBD consent rate, 75% DCD consent rate. 14 years since I joined NHS Blood+Transplant. So proud to do the job I do and lead such an amazing team Yorkshire Organ Donation Services Team. I will continue to represent our Specialist Nurse workforce, our donors and their families as they are the ones that will always remain the most important part of my job 💖

Today was a day of honouring the kindness & generosity of our organ & tissue donors & their families. A moving and solemn ceremony held at Leeds Civic Hall for the Order of St. John Awards for our organ & tissue donors & their families. From all of us, thank you so much. 💗

Extremely proud of you all for this achievement but a big shout out to our Clare Jones, one of the Yorkshire ODTD team lead nurses, for making us all very proud of you as always! 💗

Lily has had the best 2 years New College Doncaster Thanks to her tutors and also to whoever it was who guided her to take BTECS rather than A levels. I wasn’t convinced at the time but it’s been the best decision. Her next chapter starts in September but for now, sixth form college…

Such sad news to wake up to yesterday morning. Marks passion for organ and tissue donation post SPK transplant was admirable. Time doesn’t heal, it just makes the pain a little easier to bear. 12 years with her and now 33 years without her but she left me with a lifetime of wonderful memories and I’m so lucky to have had her and call her my mum #childbereavement Child Bereavement UK

Today, we said goodbye to a much loved and admired Organ Donation Committee Chair - Lorraine McLeavey. This rare Blue Jay Award was given to Lorraine a few days before her passing. Her family especially husband Mike are extremely proud of this award as we all are in Yorkshire.💗
