Can’t be put more simply: Greens would scrap Ofsted. Keeping single-word ratings? I can’t believe what I am reading this morning. I grew up with teachers and have governed a wonderful school and this is not serving better standards.

My rating of this Government: Inadequate.

Heading to the Chamber to do all I can to stand up to this failing & faithless Government breaking their promises to renters. One of the amendments I put down tries to get them to address the scandal of high rents with a desperately needed system of rent controls.

The brass neck of this Govt trying to duck responsibility for breaking 5-year old promise to ban no fault evictions as they cave in to landlord lobbying. Michael Gove renters in #Brighton & across the country want & need you to keep your promises #RentersReformBill

🚨 5pm today is the deadline to apply for a proxy vote AND a Voter Authority Certificate if you don't have another form of photo ID.

Landlords should not have unlimited power over renters, preventing them exercising their right to a decent home, which is what Section 21 currently allows. It has to go NOW, so that we can’t be evicted without a reasonable legal reason. I’ll never rest until the Government acts.

This is why The Green Party say zero should be the target.

It’s also a kick in the teeth for all those renters who were promised s21 reform (no fault evictions) only to be told the courts aren’t ready!

At the Shelter London housing hustings KWAJO- Social Issues Campaigner says his inbox has 43,000 emails from families facing awful housing conditions or eviction. Zoë Garbett says Londoners need a Green Mayor and a louder voice to force a proper housing strategy and fairer benefits from Government.

The UK’s first South Asian Queer Pride was SO good. It was lovely to see friends, spread Queer joy & be surrounded by the Queer South Asian community!

We’re not the first & won’t be the last. We’re not alone & never have been. Spaces like this are important, healing & powerful🥰

Followed some of my own advice this weekend and went out with some of the lovely, expert Brighton & Hove Green Party to immerse in and marvel at nature - specifically the spectacular bluebells in Stanmer! And the acrobatic jay came back for more peanuts too! 👏💚🥜 #nofilters
