If Grant Shapps wants to raise defence spending to 3% of GDP, (full page leadership campaign advert in today’s Daily Telegraph) why doesn’t he speak to the Secretary of State for Defence? Or is he like Badenoch, Mordaunt, Jenrick & the others just posturing to be Tory Leader?

A minister says that the sentence “looking at Diane Abbott made me want to hate all black women” was nothing to do with her gender or race. So ‘black women’ must refer to her height? Or singing ability? Or the speed at which she canoes? He needs to be clear.
