Two weeks ago, our team organised 31th annual conference of Japanese Society of Pediatric Urology and invited Prof Prem Puri and Prof Alan Flake as guest speakers. So exciting to know that artificial womb is getting close to clinical trial!

On this day in 1852 we opened our doors for the first time. From our small beginnings of just ten beds, we now treat around 600 seriously ill children, from all over the UK, every day.

Paternal and maternal leave is normal for whether residents or the head of the department, which made me rethink how to work and build a team...

I found myself the only man in an operating theatre in France. Surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses were all women. The gender balance of surgery has already changed there.

It was inspiring!
