I informed the Labour Party I do not intend to contest the GE. It has been an honour & pleasure to have worked for the great people of Smethwick & Oldbury for over 30 years, and also as a Govt Minister. I look forward to continuing to play an active role in the Labour Movement

Dangerously dark mood amongst Tory MPs. Cold fury at what they see as Sunak bouncing them into an unwinnable election. Does not bode well for unity during the campaign. Would be amazed if we don’t see some sort of rupture before polling day.

This is absolutely grim. The Tories have lied and lied about voter ID requirements being about almost non-existent personation, when it's all been about making it more difficult for the young and the poor to vote. Disgusting, and in itself a form of electoral fraud.

30 years today since the death of John Smith, the best Prime Minister we never had.

I'm still your Candidate!
We've seen countless Tory switchers, today another, I look forward to Natalie's support at the next General Election.
Natalie has seen that only Labour has a plan to secure our borders, and build the homes we need.

.John Spellar just raised this in . Sunak replied that the Govt would 'make progress' towards National Insurance abolition in 'next Parliament'. ie back to the Hunt line about 'work of many Parliaments'.

Pretty chaotic on key policy, changing the line on an almost daily basis?

Leaving the Labour Party days after some of our greatest ever election results just goes to show they are, and always have been, against Labour winning

Anyone with a gram of politics between ears knew Scully who is well known as no 1 London Tory should have been Mayoral candidate. So why did Sunak go for an unelectable extremist?

There are good reasons why Labour First holds its Annual Meetings at Brandhall Labour Club in Sandwell. Centre of the political universe!
