Bought six issues including this one on a whim for the “Beastworld” story arc, but have found the “Samurai” story that was in part of this run has me feverishly looking for the three remaining issues I need of this story by Larry Hama with art by Val Mayerik.

Linda’s fall meal: Balsamic glazed chops, acorn squash with apples, raisins and brown sugar and yes, Stove Stop Stuffing….which compliments both perfectly.

Reading the first of six installments of Beastworld. Think “big bugs” meet “The Most Dangerous Game”. Sort of. (Kirk Reinert cover)

Opportunity to tour the Elitch Theater that opened in 1891. So many famous names graced the stage including Cecil B. DeMille, Harold Lloyd, Grace Kelly, Edward H. Robinson, Myrna Loy, Vincent Price, Myrna Loy, and William Shatner. Even had the chance to walk on the stage!

Neat recent mail call. The first two comic adaptations of this Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color ‘64 miniseries will be tough to land, but will be worth the pursuit.

Today it's the Spanish version of Dracula (1931), filmed at the same time and using the same sets as the Lugosi classic. Well worth a look, somewhat more dynamic than the English version, although Carlos Villarias is no Lugosi (but who is?).

My very first exposure to the Uni-Monsters on film. As a kid I remember sneaking out of bed one night and turned on the tv. As the tubes warmed I was greeted by Wolfie battling Frankie. Seconds later these two monsters were swept away by waves. Roll credits. Mind blown.

COFFEE with SCREAM- Saturday morning classic horror films, just like in the days of my youth! This week’s film- THE MUMMY (1932). Boris Karloff “kills it” in this role! Many sequels and spinoffs would follow, but none as great as this film!

Last night: Bela Lugosi and the East Side Kids! Until I read up on this one I didn’t know it was Ava Gardner’s first “credited” role.

Underrated….and we also get the Vasquez Rocks, where Capt. Kirk and the Gorn would rumble. I believe Karen Walker and Larry From Planet 8 have been there. Need to make this “trek” myself.
