1. Andrea Pozzo's '3D' ceiling:

5. The Palazzo Spada

Borromini also contributed to this mighty stucco palace in a unique way, by adding a forced-perspective illusion. This colonnade is only 8 meters long, but it looks like 30.

Bernini was to the Baroque what Michelangelo was to the Renaissance.

Most of his masterpieces (commissioned by Cardinal Scipione Borghese) are in there.

6. Quartiere Coppedè

Rome isn't all Classical and Baroque grandeur. There's a small pocket of fantastical architecture: from Medieval to Art Nouveau. It was built between 1921 and 1927 to Gino Coppedè's designs — Italy’s Gaudí.
