I was just at Missoula City Council until 4am opposing the city's efforts to enact a set of cruel policies targeting unhoused Missoulians. I testified alongside an overwhelming majority of the public opposing these policies. The council ignored the public & passed them anyway.

Update: it’s midnight, and the city council is still debating its urban camping law. A potluck at the courthouse is feeding people as public comment is set to resume at 12:20. Someone brought a TV to livestream the meeting out there. Still got some amendments to go #AllNighter

BREAKING: Missoula’s city council has passed new laws restricting urban camping through buffer zones and time restrictions. It also started a vehicle reservation system at about 3:25 a.m. The law will be in full effect on July 25. The meeting started at 6 p.m.
