We’ve had a cold, stormy #winter in Scotland - and a busy winter for marine animal strandings.

This female common #dolphin live-stranded along the River Forth, near #Stirling . It was in thin condition, but with no obvious signs of major illness. Pathogen tests are pending! 🦠🐬

Last week we attended the European Cetacean Society conference where we delivered a collection of workshops, posters and presentations🐳

And had a #SMASSing time catching up with colleagues & friends as well as learning about lots of amazing #cetacean research. Bring on #ECS2025 ! 🌞🐬🌊

I presented a poster on work on spatiotemporal trends of cetacean strandings with SMASS & helped deliver an ASCOBANS workshop on developing a European strandings database 💻🐬
