This is a very good idea. Make a catalog of your town's favorite buildings. Make it legal to duplicate them.

At 0.38km² it is just a little over the ideal human scaled city size. It looks like it had a pop. of about 6,000. With only two story buildings, half of it residential and a Paris like density, we moderns could build a replica to house 3,800, without any cars or transit needed.

An interesting example of 1990s new traditional build from inner Melbourne. Poorly maintained and the proportions and execution is a bit off, but no doubt many people mistake this for heritage.

Kids books and movies use settings that are naturally warm, neighbourly and beautiful. This is not an accident.

Adults also deserve places that don’t alienate us ⁠— that make us feel at home in the world.
