Excellent evening circuit of Shalford Meadow highlights;- Oystercatcher, 7 Lapwing (3 chicks), 8 Mandarin (6 chicks), male Yellow Wagtail, Hobby & Garden Warbler.
Earlier a walk around the Bures/Lamarsh border produced 2 Turtle Doves & at least 2 singing Nightingales

Found a few specimens of the scarce bug, Graptopeltus lynceus plus another colony of Sehirus luctuosus (Forget-me-not Shieldbugs) at the railway crossing at the other end of Shalford Meadow, this time associating with Early Forget-me-not (Myosotis ramosissima)

Shalford Meadow & Cornard Mere today; Common Sandpiper along the river, 4 Yellow Wagtails, 6 House Martins with 50+ Swallows, still at least 4 Lapwings, Garden Warbler, Lesser Whitethroat, 2 Common Whitethroats, 2 Sedge Warblers, plenty of Reed Warblers at the Mere & Nightingale

Brief visit to Shalford Meadow this afternoon;- White Wagtail & Yellow Wagtail with 30+ Pieds plus 2 Grey Wagtails & 4 Lapwings. Also Meadow Saxifrage flowering, 1st time I've seen it here, probably as a result of it being still too wet to get the cattle on, hence no grazing.

A quick check of Giffords Flash produced a Swift, 6 B-t Godwit & Pintail. Then to Abberton where I found a Spotted Redshank with 4 Greenshank at Billets Flood & a couple of Green-winged Orchids on the reserve, other highlights were 3 Spoonbill, 20+ Swifts, 2 LRP & Willow Warbler

Shalford Meadow visit on the way home from Abberton produced the fem Goldeneye still present in the sewage works lagoons with 5 Tufties, a Green Sandpiper & a pair of Shoveler, 3 Yellow Wagtails towards the N end plus 5 Lapwings still & 20+ Swallows hawking low over the meadow

A visit to Abberton Reservoir today produced highlights of 2+ Arctic Tern, 2 Wheatear, Spoonbill, singing Willow Warbler, LRP, Green Sandpiper, Oystercatcher, 2cy Med Gull plenty of summer migrants incl. Common Terns, Yellow Wags, Nightingales, Lesser & Common Whitethroats etc
