Another gardening discovery today was this caterpillar of a Lesser Yellow Underwing. Some sort of snake mimicry going on with these markings.

Found three Meadow Ladybirds (Rhyzobius litura) today in Upshire, Essex by tapping storm blown pine branches that had been lying on a field edge for several days. Presumably a source of food or shelter dropping into their usual grassland habitat.

This is what is required! A proper test of excellent ears against passive recorders!! They should be no match to well trained human ears

80 rusty-orange Black-tailed Godwits just dropped down on to Cattawade Marshes. This time next week they'll probably be in Iceland.

Mark Nowers Lee Evans (LGRE) - the official account Momentum is definitely building for mink eradication nationwide, and it's perfectly possible. For people not within areas covered by Waterlife Recovery, you can log rafts using the Mink MApp app - which is linking up with Waterlife to create a single project for eradication!

Upgrading breeding status on @birdtrack to 'confirmed' from possible or probable is important. Adult Lapwings circling and calling like this ticks that box. BTO
