This is MP Philip Davies MP. Much like the rest of the Tory party, he hates doctors. However, it seems he hates them even more than his other crony friends. The tweet below is a reply he sent to a doctor who sent him the BMA letter asking him to support the strikes.

Note the move by DHSC of using 6 monthly NHS waiting list figures now as the latest March 2024 data shows NO progress over February as the normal seasonal effect of fewer referrals to the list over winter ends.

March 2024: 7.54 million
vs
Feb 2024: 7.54 million

Here we go again

Junior Doctors have no longterm employer so have no proper employment rights. This needs to be tested.

We are challenging their underhand methods on 23 to 25 October

A big win. Our strike mandate has been extended until September 2024.

Itā€™s a promising start to negotiations, but we will not hesitate to call for further strike action if further progress isnā€™t being made.

Our SAS colleagues covered ā€˜juniorā€™ doctors whilst we took strike action. Itā€™s time for us to support them.

Letā€™s restore our pay, letā€™s restore our profession.

Nowā€™s the time for us to make good on our promise and begin preparing for our first strike action.

While we prepare to strike, weā€™re continuing talks with Government and are hopeful a deal can still be reached.

SAS doctors in England, we recently extended the deadline for our talks with Government in the hope we could agree an improved offer that we could put to you.

The deadline has now passed, even though we made progress, weā€™re yet to reach an agreement. šŸ‘‡

Your daily reminder that NHSE expects some first year doctors to hear where they are placed as late as 4 July (or even tba) and be ready to start work in this unknown destination w/c 22 July. Still no explanation from NHSE of how this has been allowed to happen. 1.n

Genuinely breathtaking what a low bar the NHS has for 'Junior' Doctors that simply getting paid the correct amount at the right time is considered an improvement.

šŸ§µWe are 79 soon-to-be Doctors who are supposed to be working in the East Midlands, starting in three months.

However, we don't yet know what jobs, hospitals or even which city we will be working in.

We are distressed, angry and fed up. [1/2]

Came across this picture & it had me reflecting on the importance of recognising how many years of training it takes to reach the ā€œlevel of a Day 1 Consultantā€ or GP when discussing pay & scope of practice.

There is no alternative to these years for this knowledge.

When I was growing up we had no money to buy books. All I had was my local library. I spent hundreds of hours in it. But for that library I might never have become a lawyer. A thousand have closed under Conservative Governments. Itā€™s almost like they donā€™t want us to read

My personal experience with PH, a šŸ§µ:

When I was an FY1, issues in work and personal life got my mental health falling to its rock bottom. I didnā€™t want to get help as I thought ā€˜it wasnā€™t bad enoughā€™. Having to see my own GP was also a mental barrier for me. (1/5)
