The jokes about political parties' desire to make themselves the endlessly malleable vessels for everyone's aspirations rather write themselves in this case:

UK in a Changing Europe(@UKandEU) 's Twitter Profile Photo

It’s almost 4 years since the UK left the European Union. Recent polls show a majority of people want to re-join the EU. But is this a realistic option?

Twitter: looks increasingly like a half-deserted Wild West. Yet still the only global platform that matters (in terms of information gathering at least).

I have serious concerns about a UAE backed takeover of the Telegraph, but can people stop pretending that it is currently a bastion of impartiality and free press.

YouGov poll: of all possible relationships the UK could have with the European Union, rejoining the EU is by far the most popular one, with only 6% strongly supporting the current relationship:

Tony Yates Agree. It is not as if politicians are not aware there is a carbon issue. The regulation of banks according to green principles (eg capital weights skewed away from some companies and towards others) is also a problem. CBs should play their own role well, not others' role badly

I don't think you need a business school degree (although it helps) to see that this is a crazy investment rule. the specific amount of £28bn is not important - but a green investment is either necessary or unnecessary. the sea level is not conditional on the business cycle

I'm actually having a conversation, on LinkedIn, about climate change and central banking, with a central banker. It's functioning like a social media site. This is really end of days stuff for Twitter.

I’ve written an assessment of the career of the late John Pilger. It’s titled “John Pilger was a charlatan and a fraudster”. Regrettably the facts do bear me out in this judgment. My thanks to CapX for publishing it in full, for it is necessarily long. capx.co/john-pilger-wa…
