'Texas Senator Ted Cruz acknowledged the incident via tweet Tuesday writing he and his wife Heidi were “fervently lifting up in prayer the children and families in the horrific shooting in Uvalde.” Gee, thanks Ted. Your prayers are worthless. Do something.

Those complaining on Reddit and Twitter about this are the one's freeloading. It's time to stop letting the load few dictate SVOD policy on the issue.

Yes, D2C SVOD is financially stable. But we will see more intra-network consolidation (bundling a network's multiple properties) as well as inter-network consolidation (large operators buying smaller brands).

This is hardly 'new,' as mobile operators have been playing this card for years. It has taken cable MVNOs far too long to realize mobile as buttress against declining pay-TV use. fiercevideo.com/video/charter-…

As TDG first predicted in 2019, telcos and cable cos are strong candidates for Pay TV 3.0. Verizon joins the mix.

And this is why they are considering manufacturing branded smart TVs...
Unfortunately, many undervalue Roku's roll as an aggregator of content versus a producer of original content.

Nice piece by Sappington. We noted three years ago that consumers would soon tire of poorly integrated app experiences and look for innovative aggregators to address the issue. First movers will find an accepting audience.

NCTC CEO Lou Berilla recently said NYT’s Shira Ovide was “clueless” when he said cable was dead. Harsh. But Berilla only now be aware that cable operators “are pivoting to broadband first.” Sorry, Lou, but that started in 2015. Talk about clueless.

Live news and sports are the two genres that have most strongly resisted D2C, preferring to license their best programming to pay-TV operators. The addition of CNN+ is strong move in favor of D2C, which in turn furthers the need for pay-TV 3.0 solutions.

The FWA+Mobile proposition has long held value. It was more about when FWA technology would be viable for residential delivery and how quickly it would reach scale.
Verizon believes now is that time. We'll see.

An important step toward Pay TV 3.0--the appearance of inter-network apps bundles.
