Foot and ankle muscles Gastrocnemius and Soleus - Propel you forward and absorb shock. Proper technique, like landing with a midfoot strike rather than a heel strike, can reduce the strain on these muscles and decrease the risk of calf injuries ie strains or Achilles tendonitis.

Aspiring ultrarunner: Ultra running is longer than a marathon. It requires mental strength & determination. Most ultra ‘runners’ walk the hills to preserve energy. Unlike short distances, learn to eat while you run, smile at others, thank the volunteers, high-five the children.

Thank you London. The marathon is all the training you went out and did even when you weren't feeling it. The fact that you got through it when it was tough. I hope in time you'll be able to feel proud of what you achieved. A marathon is a distance not a time

Last Sunday, I met Robert Bellarmine Okudi at the monthly TeamMatooke run and I asked him about his plans for TCS London Marathon since he was out of action for time because of an injury. He said “ Don , I want to take it as slow as possible” How is 3hrs 32mins slow 🤣. Well done General!!!
