🌱 Last year, Will taught us how to make cordage using Nettle! Some of us made friendship bracelets, rooting the craft experience in giving and making for others!

Last year The Sanctuary had an amazing worship with Hayden from Hengistbury Head learning flint knapping! Turns out, we’d never be without tools, the sanctuary team are a dab hand at flint working!

Despite the rain we had a fantastic day, some of us learning a new skill or two, having lunch in the woods and of course popping into the centres long house and round house! What a treat!

An exhibition entitled Seasons of Sanctuary is running in the Lees Gallery, Talbot Campus, as of TODAY!

The exhibition is a reflective piece encapsulating the first year of the Sanctuary project: four seasons through four craft gestures. Please do go visit! Images: Megan Russell

In last weeks session, we had another go at making shoes! Lead by our lovely Sarah and inspired by examples from 8325-8100 BP found in America, we managed to fashion ourselves some footwear using only rope, our hands and feet!

In March, The Sanctuary will have been going for one whole year!
