On to ergonomics w Rashmi Advani, MD, ABOM-D!! An incredibly important topic. Be aware of body/scope/room position when scoping. Don’t be afraid to speak up & ask to set things up how you need them. Majority of fellows get an injury in training (me included) ASGE GI Endoscopy #FYF course

#AmitRastogi sharing pearls of wisdom ASGE GI Endoscopy #FYF course. One I particularly enjoyed was on tattoos of large polyps. If you MUST tattoo: ✅Tattoo 3-5 cm away to prevent submucosal fibrosis that may impact future endoscopic resection. ✅ Detail in report where tattoo is

Path is back & confirmed suspicions. As many answered in the poll & comments, don't be spurred away from biopsies just bc of an NSAID red-herring. If the endoscopic picture doesn't correlate with the history, it's better to sample now rather than delay diagnosis. Trust your gut!

One of my fave parts of adv endo is the immediate impact on pt quality of life. This unfortunate patient had PEG tube removed at OSH w/ 2 months of persistent leakage. One quick endoscopy and zero leakage since 🤗 1⃣ APC to de-epithelialize tissue 2⃣ 12/6t OTSC for closure 🙌

A nice image of the wall layers in real time during a poem from inside the tunnel during myotomy. Limited submucosa overlying a thick muscular is priority #Endoscopy #GItwitter #MedEd #medicine #gastroenterology #

Grateful to AASLD Foundation for the opportunity to participate in academic debates as part of the UT Southwestern Medical Center team with Ashwini Arvind (she/her) and mentorship of Amit G Singal at #TLM2024!
