¡ESO! we, Deaf interpreters (DIs), struggle for crumbs, as in 5-20 hours of paid assignment time a month, with NO benefits and taxes to pay. we DIs don’t even have the “ASL interpreter” label, despite being the true interpreters, in comparison to hearing terps (HIs). fuck yall.
