Assault is a criminal offence covered under the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act. To prove assault one must show intention to commit such a crime. Unless we can prove intent we need to move away from such language as it's punitive, regressive and damaging.

We welcome the publication of the Autism Innovation Strategy - this marks an important moment as we see an emphasis on creating a neuroaffirmative and equitable society where Autistic people have the same chance. It must be followed by resources, implementation and legislation.

We were delighted to meet Minister for Trade, Enterprise and Employment Peter Burke . It was great to discuss the findings of our Same Chance report as well as the work of our Adult Support and Employment Team with the Minister and his officials.

Whilst many children & young people started back to school today, there were some cohorts of young people left behind. Every year we hear from parents without a school for their child. The system must do better, we are failing our young people. The Same Chance is not given.

"Travellers don't value education" Yet here I am stressed out cause my child is Traveller and Autistic started 5th class and I am worried about his second level place! He deserves an education on so many levels.

Sad to hear of the passing of Steve Silberman. Steve personified the concept of allyship and gave of his journalistic expertise and empathy to break down barriers for Autistic people. It was an honour for AsIAm to learn from Steve at 2019 Conference. May he rest in peace
