I took Econ in high school, took enough in college to get certified, & it still took having to teach it to make it make sense. Not because I had poor teachers or they did the wrong things, it's because understanding (not just knowing or memorizing) requires context & purpose.

Imagine if that money instead went to public schools and feeding kids and/or other things such as cancer research and improving nursing home conditions…
