Roma people have lived in Sweden since at least the 16th century and are one of Sweden's 5 official national minorities. Their culture and traditions are protected by law, as is the Romani chib language.

We want to take this opportunity to celebrate the Nordic countries – this geographical and cultural region that includes Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, as well as the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Åland.

Congrats to composer Ludwig Göransson & cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema – both Academy Award winners for their work on Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’!

Swede Göransson won Best Original Score, while Dutch–Swedish van Hoytema won Best Cinematography.

The twin duo won the grand final of Melodifestivalen, Sweden's annual national music competition, and get to represent Sweden in the 2024 Eurovision Song Contest. 🎤🇸🇪

❄️ Vasaloppet is the Swedish cross-country ski race with plenty of history. This Sunday, the main race is staged for the 100th time!

💪 Some 15,000 people will sweat it out on the 90-kilometre course from Sälen to Mora, in province Dalarna.

Today is the National Day of the Sami people. It is celebrated in northern parts of 🇸🇪, 🇳🇴 and 🇫🇮, and the Kola Peninsula in 🇷🇺. The Sami are recognised as an indigenous people, and are an official national minority in Sweden.

This is Marcus Wandt – the third Swede 🇸🇪 ever in space! 🚀

As crew member of Axiom Mission 3, he's headed for the International Space Station. Among several experiments, he'll be helping Uppsala University researchers study the effects of microgravity on stem cells.
