This Wednesday the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) will publicly apologize for its role, and the role of the medical profession, in the past and ongoing harms to First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples in the Canadian health system. The ceremony will be held on the traditional

Cuts to the FSCD program will significantly challenge and likely harm this vulnerable population. Alberta deserves better care for kids with the disabilities supported by FSCD. Healthcare is a provincial issue. Why are you abandoning patients Adriana LaGrange ?

Remember this? Well it’s not gonna get better Alberta. Govt’s current action plan on HC (both in acute care and FM): the choice not to take ANY action. (Aside from further disintegration of the HC system)

I would love to know if there is a place where: -MDs learn & work in psychologically safe environments -Moral injury, harassment & abuse are not normalized -Retention is easy b/c ppl feel fulfilled & gratified by work I bet this place doesn't have a #healthcare crisis.

We provided government with solutions to address the concurrent crises in health care, but will they act? If government refuses to act the system will continue to degrade. This weekend's Representative Forum's guidance will be acted upon, swiftly. albertadoctors.org/news/publicati…

Ugh, I'm tired of weighing in on this. Let me put on my sub, sub specialist hat. FM and GIM are the foundations of care in the community. I cannot function without them. If government refuses to support these (and their actions speak louder than their words), we are lost.

I remain baffled that it’s politically advantageous to take public money and give it to private entities whether it’s schools or healthcare facilities.

Listened to this. Could not help to compare to healthcare. We're great at announcing/building buildings. We're terrible at operating them. Where was "we're going to make AB the best place to work as a teacher" or "we're going to train 20K new teachers.."??

A really good point. I strongly resent my taxes being used to fund Catholic healthcare and Catholic schools. In 2024 I see no reason to teach one religion in schools and I certainly do not believe there is anything called Catholic healthcare. It is reduced healthcare.

The current state of our acute care system is "not sustainable for the physicians and it's not good for the patients." Alberta's health care system is on the brink of collapse and our patients are facing the consequences.
