I like cooking but I'm not sure if that's because I get to use pans. I really like pans. I live in Bolton.

Tonight's washing up music was Blind by The Sundays. It reminded me of where I first heard it, Blackpool in the early 90's. Good times. I heard #Disintegration by #TheCure at the same time, so I couldn't help but put it on. Sitting here til it finishes.

Neighbour called in a panic. They are changing bin day to Thursday. "But our bin is always full by Tuesday, (bin day)I don't know how we're going to manage." I didn't have the heart to try and explain so I just commiserated with her.

I missed the first 5mins of the match watching This Is The Kit at Glastonbury. A fleeting thought was "Wouldn't it be cool if I just missed it all by watching this? I dismissed it. Now I'm having second thoughts.

I got blocked in by a Tesla this morning. He looked embarrassed as he explained that he couldn't start the engine because the app was playing up. I've never been prouder to pull away in my 15 year-old Skoda.

Washing up to #disintegration I feel aggrieved that I didn't hear this until 1993. I spent a few years scouting around for the right music. Tried Simple Minds, then U2, but the first time I heard it, something changed. Can still remember hearing in my mate Mike's bedroom, age 14.

Frustrating afternoon crawling under the floorboards to fit a new ethernet cable, only to find it was too short. Anyhow, tonight's washing up music was pure bliss. Not listened to it in years #sigurros

As a kid , my favourite telly was The Secret Life of Machines with Tim Hunkin and Rex. My sister thought I was the strangest boy alive.

The Weekenders saved me in my GCSE creative writing. 30 minutes into the one hour exam, I still had a blank page. Last resort was to copy the plot from this, Specialty Meat festival included. I got an 'A'. Thanks Vic and Bob.

This album was a game changer. Music was never the same again. I'll never forget watching Tom Waits on The Tube. He was awesome, I was hooked. If you don't own this album, you really should.

Reading #Ghostmountain on holiday in a rambling old house in South Wales. A comfy chair surrounded by old furniture on the landing, the perfect spot "The woman's heart felt heavy, but nobody cared to weigh it." Beautiful prose from Mumblin' Deaf Ro Bluemoose Books

I've just noticed that they don't do toilet paper in colours to match your bathroom anymore. They used to do at least peach and hospital green. I can't remember if there were any others. Nowadays it's just white.

“Even though we accepted our inferiority to white people, because we thought it was biblically ordained, we still, nonetheless, felt that we were superior to other black people.” I get this. Made to feel special AND humiliated all at once . theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/a…
